Engine live

The oracle that shows its work.

Pythia prices every game, flags what moves it and sizes the edges worth a stake. Then it grades itself against the closing line where anyone can read it.

How the oracle works

Five steps, before every slate.

Nothing is generated on its own. Each step takes real data in and hands typed numbers to the next, and the last step feeds the first.

  1. Step 01: Price

Ratings, a learner trained on seasons of context and the vig free market are blended and calibrated, so a 60 really hits about 60 times in a hundred.

  2. Step 02: Flag

A starter out, a wind warning, a back to back, a line that moved: each flag is sized in points and points at a side.

  3. Step 03: Size

Fractional Kelly against your bankroll with a hard cap, and a certainty tier that says how sure the engine is that the edge is real.

  4. Step 04: Grade

Every recommendation is settled on the final score and scored against the closing line, where anyone can read it.

  5. Step 05: Learn

Every result feeds back in: the blends and calibration refit every night, and a sport is called only while testing shows it holds up against the close.

Questions

Straight answers.

Is this betting advice?

No. Pythia publishes probabilities, flags and suggested stakes so you can judge a line for yourself. It does not place bets, hold funds or promise a result. Treat every number as analysis, not an instruction.

How are the probabilities made?

A rating system built from scores, a learner trained on seasons of games, and the vig free consensus of the books. The learner sees injuries, rest, travel, weather, the starting quarterback and pitcher and how they have been playing, and the matchups: the run game against the run defense, shooters against the perimeter defense, shot share and goaltending. Before a pick is called, a news desk reads the latest reports on who will and will not play. The pieces are blended with weights fitted on history, then calibrated so that a 60 percent really hits about 60 percent of the time. An input only earns weight if it improved predictions on past seasons.

What does the certainty tier mean?

A is the most certain the edge is real, D the least. It is not the chance the bet wins. It measures how much the model and the market disagree, how complete the data is, how many books agree, and how reliable that kind of edge has been in the graded record.

What is closing line value?

The line you took versus the line the books closed at. Beating the close consistently is the clearest evidence an edge is real, long before the win and loss record settles. Every recommendation is scored on it.

What happens when it loses?

The loss goes on the public record, graded at the price we called it, next to the closing line. Losses come from late news, a line that moved against the pick, a blowout nobody could price, or plain variance. Every night the learning pass refits the blends and calibration on the new results, and a sport or a kind of bet that stops holding up in testing stops being called.
